Reviewing Your Medicare Supplement Plan
Best Time to Review
-
The best time to review is during your policy renewal, usually the month you enrolled (found on your ID card).
-
For example, if coverage started on 7/1/2021, renewal is likely every July.
-
Exception- *UnitedHealthCare premiums typically renew on 1/1.
-
-
Medicare Supplement policies are not tied to the Annual Enrollment Period—you can shop and switch plans year-round.

Underwriting Considerations
Switching Medicare Supplement plans will require you to pass medical underwriting and be approved for the new policy. Certain health conditions may prevent you from switching to a lower cost Medicare Supplement Plan.
Approximately 10 states have adopted special rules that allow their residents to make a change to their plan at certain times without having to answer health questions.
